This course is an in-depth theory course associated with Basic Life Support. It describes in details; how to assess the deteriorating person using the ABCD approach and administer First Aid; actions to take if a person is choking; when and how to put someone in the recovery position; how to identify a cardiac arrest; how to initiate and maintain effective lung ventilation; how to initiate and maintain effective chest compressions; how to use an Automated External Defibrillator; how to report and record details of an emergency event, and the management of CPR during COVID-19. It also includes details of accident prevention like electrocution, choking, burns and scalds, etc; and also how to manage service users/patients with seizures.
